Hey guys! I have to say that to date, this might just be the easiest DIY I have ever done. It’s so simple and yet when you’re done you’ll be left with a great little display case for your rings.
Now, I made this one for our store to display rings for sale, but you could totally make this for your own personal ring collection. If you have a store, then I highly suggest making a display case like this. It makes our product look so great. Plus, it’s so cheap and easy!
Make sure you watch the video at the end, so you can see just how easy this is.
Here’s what you need:
- Wood display box
- Canvas fabric
- DecorArt Vintage Effect Wash
- 3 small paint rollers
- Foam brush
- Rag
To begin this project, I removed the glass area from the wood display case. I picked up this wood display case from Dollarama. If you don’t have a Dollarama near you, you should be able to find something similar at another dollar store, or I would try checking at a craft store.
Once I removed the glass, I painted the box with DecoArt Vintage Effect Wash in Patina. I love this “paint” because it’s actually a colour wash. So instead of going on like a paint, it’s more like a stain — a stain that comes in fun colours!
Basically, you brush it on and then you can leave it or you can wipe it off with a rag. You don’t need to worry about painting the inside of the box because it won’t be seen.
Pretty much now, all you have to do is put the three rollers inside the box and then cover them with the piece of canvas fabric. You want to tuck the piece of canvas in between the rollers nice and tight. You can see how I did this, by checking out the video at the bottom of this post.
Once you have the canvas all tucked in just close the lid and that’s it.
It really is that simple!
