Hello! How was everyone’s Christmas? Fantastic, I hope! I just wanted to take a quick break from all the aftermath of Christmas to share with you all the gorgeous hutch makeover that I did for a client.
You have to see this baby now!
Here is the before pic:
The quality is not the greatest, so my apologies! I totally forgot to take a before pic because I was so excited to slap some paint on this baby! This was the pic that the client had sent me of her full kitchen so I had to zoom in on the hutch.
Don’t worry, the after is going to more than make up for it!
To start, I took the top part off the hutch and then I sanded the whole thing down.
Before you paint any piece of furniture, if there are drawers and doors, I beg you — TAKE THEM OFF PRIOR TO PAINTING!
This makes a world of difference and separates and gorgeous furniture makeover from a mediocre one.
I didn’t take a lot of process photos while I was making this over. We did this in the clients home and I didn’t have much time to stop and take photos.
But the after shots really speak for themselves!
We painted the hutch in Lazy Linen from Country Chic Paint and chose Dark Walnut stain from Minwax for the buffet server top and the drawer fronts.
We also replaced all the hardware with newly updated drawer pulls.
I love this piece so much! I wanted to take it home with me!!
If you love this makeover, make sure you pin it to your dream Pinterest boards!
Beautiful update! I love the colour of the paint.
That is so funny about the before shots…I always forget too. Love how you mixed the two colors of wood and white. It turned out great, very pretty.
Thank you so much!! And yes, I have to actively think about taking before shots or I often forget! lol
