Hey guys! Happy July!! Summer is finally here! This week I took some much needed holidays and have been spending some time with the fam. It is only the first week of July, but oh boy! It has been a busy one!
For starters, someone turned 30 on June 30th! This guy right here…
Yup! My hubby celebrated his 30th birthday last week, and I was determined to make it a good one!
I surprised him with a 3 hour dinner and dancing boat tour around the Toronto Harbor. This is something that we had never done before. Having two young ones we don’t get to get out and enjoy ourselves very often. Plus, my hubby works six days a week, so it was nice to get out and have some adult time! My sisters and their husbands tagged along too and a good time was had by all. I will let the pics speak for themselves. π
The view was also amazing!
If you have kids, I highly suggest doing something this summer for just adults. It is so nice to enjoy yourself without having to worry about your wee ones!
After our little sea escapades were over, it was time for a little family vacay… Just the four of us! Time for some camping! We decided to head out to the campground that is about a 5 minute drive from our home. We didn’t want to go too far since we were camping for the first time with a two year old.
What a little turkey.
Our seven year old, Ava, has been begging to go camping for awhile now, so we thought it was time!
We camped at theΒ Fanshawe Conservation Area, on the Thames River.
Our campsite was directly by the splash pad. I had to drag our son out of that thing! The water was sooo cold, but he just didn’t care. Shivers and all, he didn’t want to stop playing!
We also ventured out to the Fanshawe Pioneer Village, which is in the park. We learned all about what it was like to live in the 1800s – early 1900s. Both me and my daughter love learning about History.
Daddy and Ava got into a bit of trouble!
And, we also got super close to a groundhog… these little critters were everywhere! This little guy let us get soooo close!
We still have one more trip left on our holidays! Tomorrow we are off to the water park and Chuck E Cheese! (Ava has always wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese). I hope it doesn’t disappoint!
What are you doing this summer! Let me know! Share your vacation stories with me!
My holidays are almost over and then next week it is back to DIYn’! π
Happy Summer everyone!!
I can see you were really rough’n it there on your camping trip!! but not without Timmies π but hey it’s Canadian eh?? I am right there with ya!! π
Yah, there wasn’t going to be any true “rough’n it” with a two year old. π That will have to come when he is older! Timmies is a must π
Yup I wouldn’t go camping without my Timmies either – Gotta keep it Canadian π
